History of Alex Furs

• Alex Dimitropoulos has been part of the Fur Trade for over 50 years
• Immigrated to Canada from Argos Orestiko (Kastoria) Greece in 1959 
• In the 1960's was the fur craftsman for Creeds a high end luxury retailer in Toronto  
• In 1969 Alex along with partners Irving Miller and Peter Samaras opened up Astro Furs
• Astro Furs became one Canada's finest fur manufacturers  
• Many famous clients of the day included Rod Stewart (Singer) Chuck Connors (Actor) and 1982 Miss Universe winner Karen Baldwin (Canada),
• In 1986 Alex opened up Alex Furs on Spadina Avenue (Also known as the Fur District) in Toronto
• To this day Alex Furs continues to offer quality manufacturing and service
• Showroom and factory are on the premises

• Member of the Fur Council Of Canada
• Member and President of the Furriers Guild Of Canada
• Authorized member of the Beautifully Canadian Label
